Upside-down, The Good Newsletter 2020 - Week 7

The weekly interactive newsletter sent out by Plukrijp to its members

For people living NOW the school of life

For YOU to send all your good news to

upside down = instead of announcing what we plan to do
(& most often find out we do not need to do), we relate what we really did

Building communities of trust is fundamental to healing our collective wound. At Plukrijp, we offer spaces of transparency and solidarity. The community allows people to encounter each other in truth and so develop trust.
We do the garden for YOU
Plukrijp functions on your frequent visits & harvests. Take along for friends & neighbours, this way we recreate real networks between us all, breaking down the illusory restrictions that now still separate many of us from our fellow man = UBUNTU.

What you can harvest now:

Jerusalem artichokes, parsnip, potatoes, carrots, celery, chards, chives, salads, rucola, chervil, spinach, purslane, mustards of all colors & textures, Brussels sprouts, fresh herbs for taste & medicine.

This week @ Plukrijp

Storm-week at Plukrijp !

But luckily no big damage to tunnels, gutters & roofs. We want to express our gratitude to the many gifted & willing "handymen" that shaped this place since 2007, building, repairing, cleaning, inventing, painting, burning logos & texts in wood, inventorying, ordering & re-ordering seemingly without end, giving presentations,  ..... Without your willing creativity, Plukrijp would not be the beautiful place it now is. Giving your best in the NOW so the people coming in TOMORROW may be amazed & inspired to do the same for those coming in DAY AFTER TOMORROW.

We did:

Pick up the little debris of broken branches, tumbled down fence parts & flying gutter

Plant plukpots with 3-cornered leek https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allium_triquetrum

Seeded another line of plukpots with coriander, spinach, red beets & Italian salad, to be planted somewhere in March & to be given away at the next seed saving events

Restructure the compost heap & straw reserve. Our compost heap is starting its interior transformation for the next 6-8 months. The straw reserve is down to 10 bales of 300kg, but since the season has been dry & not cold & all our roads are in nice shape & no weeds or mud are visible, we think we can make it till new harvest (June).

Steven brought us 7 truckloads of "worthless" soil from a nearby forest. We raised the level of our "back-road" with it & seeded grass & clover. This godsend will enable us to reach the new space behind the hanger by car & trailer so we can store the firewood there instead of around the workshop & in the front garden. "Worthless" you will ask? The heavy machines used nowadays to destroy forests (a favorite occupation of Flanders=1.5ha DAILY!) mix broken branches & roots with the soil which then can not be considered to be "pure" & needs to be passed through a sieve (a money costing operation). So, rather than paying extra money for "recycling” (i.e. putting it with dangerous chemical waste) for it, our friend Steven brought it to us & spread it with his bulldozer. We scratched it a few times, recuperated the broken wood for later composting & seeded it. Nice group work for/from our volunteer team!

Joshka keeps on filling in the wiki-structure of the new perma-course. It is promising to become an awesome teaching tool. We see permaculture as a new way of living, as a change of paradigm. We think that if one wants to offer a new paradigm & way of thinking/living one needs to connect the students to the many books & videos that are censored in education nowadays. Neoteny (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoteny_in_humans) as an obsessive focus on NEW, obliterating the knowledge of the PAST seems to have become the main occupation of media, schooling & (extremely short sighted) politics. Our daily sharings, video-evenings & presentations prove the enormous need for post-schooling in young people who unfortunately "seem to be able to remember only titles of "top" movies. We often bring on the joke that they want to watch "the lion king no 7" every evening instead of real artistically valuable movies. Where has the time gone when cinema was considered & treated as the seventh art form?

We participated in the seed-saving event organized by our fried Hugo, bringing food, seeds, information & good will

In fact, the "girly culture" is just a gigantic marketing operation intended to sell dolls, clothes, records ... It fits perfectly into the consumer society and tends to impose an extremely sexist model. He makes girls obsessed with beauty, that of a perfect Barbie, according to a well-established mechanism. Fascinated by princesses from an early age, the so-called weak sex then became addicted to increasingly sexy celebrities. It’s all about appearance. Women must above all seek to please and confine themselves to very specific tasks.

Movements going in another direction are irreparably condemned. In the field of music, the "Riot Groups" of the early 1990s, which called for the revolt of women, have been replaced by the "Spice Girls”…

Abby Martin sits down with Peter Phillips, former director of Project Censored and professor of Political Sociology at Sonoma State University. His new book “Giants: The Global Power Elite” details the 17 transnational investment firms which control over $50 trillion in wealth—and how they are kept in power by their activists, facilitators and protectors.

Laboratory of death

The MARKmobil-Zentrum series focuses on individual people or stories at irregular intervals. This time it's about the Pentagon bio-weapons laboratory "Lugar Center" in Georgia, which is popularly called "Laboratory of Death". Our reporter Mark Hegewald did research directly in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi.

Documents have been leaked from the Lugar Center, which show that private US companies such as Gilead or Metabiota have received a license to experiment on human beings from Georgia's top politicians. In many cases fatal.

Since the opening of the Lugar Center, the Caucasus Republic of Georgia has been hit by epidemics and pandemics. Swarms of exotic insects have appeared in the country, which the USA is researching as part of its secret project "Insect Allies".

In addition, the secret documents from the Lugar Center support the suspicion that the Pentagon is experimenting with genetically modified plague viruses, which are supposed to exterminate individual human races, and thus represent one of the greatest threats to humanity.

Wisdom
Modern cult-ure and society have disconnected us from who we truly are.
We have been programmed with beliefs, desires, needs and wants that are not our own.
We are disconnected from nature, spirit and our own bodies.
Most of the struggle we experience in life is due to the friction and conflict within us
the schism between who we truly are on a soul level (essence)
and the conditioned personality we mistake for our true self.
