2021 – week 3

Upside down = instead of announcing what we plan to do
(& most often find out we do not need to do), we relate what we really did

Building communities of trust is fundamental
to healing our collective wound.
At Plukrijp, we offer spaces of transparency and solidarity.
The community allows people to encounter each other
in truth and so develop trust.
We do the garden for YOU
Plukrijp functions on your frequent visits & harvests. Take along for friends & neighbours, this way we recreate real networks between us all, breaking down the illusory restrictions that now still separate many of us from our fellow man = UBUNTU.
The updated list of vegetables & fruit that can be harvested this week is available on our website under the heading “Current Harvest” :

This week @ Plukrijp
We did:

Finally winter? Time to ponder what we are going to seed for 2021. Time to arrange the last ‘stuff’ still lying around unattended. Time to feed the stoves with wood. Time to come closer to each other (social approaching?). Time to slow down and hope for being snowed in so we can enjoy the warmth of the Plukrijp mansion.

We did prepare for the building of the future stocking place with roof and gutter at Hei. We hope to harvest lots of rainwater for our 10.000l cistern.

We did also clean the last wood in front of the workshop and did bring it inside to feed the big stove.

We shared/watched:

We obviously made a big snowman with the first flakes. What a joy to play like children!

We did spend a few evenings simply reading close to the stove (but not too close to it! we did respect the 1,5m rule!), enjoying the loving presence of each other.

We did also look at very interesting documentaries about the life story of David Icke, Nina Simone and Miles Davis.
Interesting Movies & Documentaries

Renegade: The Life Story of David Icke

(on www.gaia.com)

The first authorized documentary exploring the life of the famed conspiracy theorist David Icke, the “mad man” who has been proved right again and again.

David Icke has been warning for nearly 30 years of a coming global Orwellian state in which a tiny few would enslave humanity through control of finance, government, media, and a military-police Gestapo overseeing 24/7 surveillance of a microchipped population. He has said that “physical” reality is an illusion, and what we think is the “world” is a holographic simulation or “Matrix” created by a non-human force to entrap human perception in ongoing servitude.

They called him “crazy,” “insane,” a “lunatic,” and he was subjected to decades of ridicule, dismissal, and abuse. Oh, but how things have changed! Today his books are read all over the world and his speaking events are watched by thousands on every continent. Why? Because what he has been so derided for saying is now happening in world events and even mainstream scientists are concluding that reality is indeed a simulation.

Featuring: David Icke, Alice Walker, Ivan Pernar

Nina Simone – What Happened, Miss Simone?

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7jIOawq8y8

Nina Simone lived more than enough life for a documentary like Garbus’. Intercutting concert footage, talking-head interviews with people who knew her (mostly her daughter), and audio of an interview conducted with Simone years ago, “What Happened, Miss Simone?” episodically captures all the big moments of its subject’s life.

Miles Davis – Birth Of The Cool

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34r017yYNa0

Miles Davis: Horn player, bandleader, innovator. Elegant, intellectual, vain. Callous, conflicted, controversial. Magnificent, mercurial. Genius. The very embodiment of cool. The man with a sound so beautiful it could break your heart.

The central theme of Miles Davis’s life was his restless determination to break boundaries and live life on his own terms. It made him a star—it also made him incredibly difficult to live with, for the people who loved him most. Again and again, in music and in life, Miles broke with convention—and when he thought his work came to represent a new convention, he changed it again. Miles’s bold disregard for tradition, his clarity of vision, his relentless drive, and constant thirst for new experiences made him an inspiring collaborator to fellow musicians and a cultural icon to generations of listeners. It made him an innovator in music—from bebop to “cool jazz,” modern quintets, orchestral music, jazz fusion, rock ‘n’ roll, and even hip-hop.

Inspiring Book

Extract:

The industrialist was horrified to find the fisherman lying beside his boat, smoking a pipe.

– Why aren’t you fishing? said the industralist.

– Because I have caught enough fish for the day.

– Why don’t you catch some more?

– What would I do with them?

– Earn more money. Then you could have a motor fixed to your boat and go into deeper waters and catch more fish. That would bring you money to buy nylon nets, so more fish, more money. Soon you would have enough to buy two boats, even a fleet of boats. Then you could be rich like me.

– What would I do then?

– Then you could sit back and enjoy life.

– What do you think I »m doing now?

Inspiring Song

Mississippi Goddam – Nina Simone

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJ25-U3jNWM

The name of this tune is Mississippi Goddam

And I mean every word of it

Alabama’s gotten me so upset

Tennessee made me lose my rest

And everybody knows about Mississippi Goddam

Alabama’s gotten me so upset

Tennessee made me lose my rest

And everybody knows about Mississippi Goddam

Can’t you see it

Can’t you feel it

It’s all in the air

I can’t stand the pressure much longer

Somebody say a prayer

Alabama’s gotten me so upset

Tennessee made me lose my rest

And everybody knows about Mississippi Goddam

This is a show tune

But the show hasn’t been written for it, yet

Hound dogs on my trail

School children sitting in jail

Black cat cross my path

I think every day’s gonna be my last

Lord have mercy on this land of mine

We all gonna get it in due time

I don’t belong here

I don’t belong there

I’ve even stopped believing in prayer

Don’t tell me

I tell you

Me and my people just about due

I’ve been there so I know

They keep on saying « Go slow! »

But that’s just the trouble

« Do it slow »

Washing the windows

« Do it slow »

Picking the cotton

« Do it slow »

You’re just plain rotten

« Do it slow »

You’re too damn lazy

« Do it slow »

The thinking’s crazy

« Do it slow »

Where am I going

What am I doing

I don’t know

I don’t know

Just try to do your very best

Stand up be counted with all the rest

For everybody knows about Mississippi Goddam

I made you thought I was kiddin’

Picket lines

School boy cots

They try to say it’s a communist plot

All I want is equality

For my sister my brother my people and me

Yes you lied to me all these years

You told me to wash and clean my ears

And talk real fine just like a lady

And you’d stop calling me Sister Sadie

Oh but this whole country is full of lies

You’re all gonna die and die like flies

I don’t trust you any more

You keep on saying « Go slow! »

« Go slow! »

But that’s just the trouble

« Do it slow »

Desegregation

« Do it slow »

Mass participation

« Do it slow »

Reunification

« Do it slow »

Do things gradually

« Do it slow »

But bring more tragedy

« Do it slow »

Why don’t you see it

Why don’t you feel it

I don’t know

I don’t know

You don’t have to live next to me

Just give me my equality

Everybody knows about Mississippi

Everybody knows about Alabama

Everybody knows about Mississippi Goddam

That’s it!

Wisdom

As every morning, the abbot was sitting in meditation with his monks this morning, when the clumsy kitchen boy in the hallway dropped all the pans from his hands.

The monks were startled from their meditation and grumbled about the boy’s klutz. How dare he interfere with their meditation! Only the abbot remained undisturbed.

Later the monks asked him what his secret was. How could the abbot meditate in such a way that even the noise of the pans did not disturb his concentration?

The abbot replied: “Friends, my composure is easy to understand. Know that silence is not the absence of sound. Silence is the absence of yourself. ”

The Female Hivemind

Written by Amanda

Woman. In this society often claimed to be the goddess. She is supposed to be this untouchable creature, making her own path and not needing a man to live. Men are simply ‘a dessert’, ‘something to have when we want to, but not needed for anything else’.

She is the monarch, the queen bee, the lady on top, risen from their hiding spot behind the man where she has been manipulating him from behind the scenes for the past centuries. Now she just does it openly and there is no one, especially not a man, who can stop her.

Right now, after these two paragraphs, I have probably enraged all the lady’s reading this already, they now feeling entitled to make some outrageous comment on why this is totally wrong, to cover up these facts that I shamelessly put into the light.

Why? Why do we lady’s always have to be like this now in the 21st century? Surely we can become a true goddess, a true inspiration for any who interacts with us, live with us, work with us, learn with us. We can be rid of all these little manipulative ways in which we control the world around us.
It would be way easier for us in the end as well. This is because when let go of our control and are able to focus on growth, learning, sharing, inspiring, we find life leads us everywhere we need to be exactly on the right moment, without having to spend all our energy on keeping all the ropes for our puppets in hand.

And quite a few of the woman have already made the first step to transcending the toxic feminine and change their path back to being an actual, useful and living human being.
On their own, it is quite possible for a woman to grow, to learn from others, to work in a group, to make progress. Yet when they come together and reach the critical mass of over 3 women, something shifts. More often then not I see women around me, and myself, being sucked in to some kind of hive-mind attitude. We become a chattering, giggly, nonsense talking group of empty brained chickens, going along and making others who look upon the loud group role their eyes.

If a group like that clumps together for a couple of days, a toxic feminine environment is often created. We tend to ‘forget’ all the progress we have made before if we allow ourselves to be sucked into this black hole of nonsense.
A hive like this is capable of cheating, lying and gossiping their way through a group, no matter where or when, imposing their will upon them. This happens within communities in which reasonable progress has been made towards living in a no-nonsense way, as well as anywhere else.

This phenomenon starts from very early on, as children will copy this and take it over consciously or unconsciously from their mothers. It already happens in kindergarten, and becomes more toxic and dangerous the further the children progress towards adulthood.
Before forming some kind of comment in your head to dismiss the remarks that I just made, think back to your own childhood. Look at the ladies’ groups in your schools, knitting clubs, at work and even the groups your mother goes to or went to, or was chatting with on birthdays, on playgrounds at schools etc. Remember the hierarchy that was always present. There is always one or two ‘queen bees’, then there are the ones sticking close to her side, always agreeing and doing anything she says and lastly the ones who just follow. No one would go against this group in conscious or subconscious fear of being thrown out, frowned upon or humiliated for life.

Think about what I just said. We all know how toxic these groups are, we just ignore the facts and drown them out, simply so we can belong, so we can feel safe, to not have to be alone.

It never feels good to be stuck in a group like this, but there is a way out. It is as simple as saying NO. Step away from the peer group, pick up the courage to say no. Don’t let yourself be lowered to a level where most people have trouble even identifying us as human beings.

It is time for woman to start growing again and to stop being stuck in a perpetual circle of gossip and make-up. Stop hiding, behind the mask, behind the little pains and illnesses we use as excuse not to do anything, behind everything that makes us look so weak and which we use so the men will have to care for us.
We can be actually useful in this world. We can learn, grow, love, nurture, inspire.
Yes it will take time to step away from generation on generation of these same patterns we have used. But once we’ll transcend everything that makes us women so toxic and fake, this will be our greatest strength.

It is hard for a woman to stay out of the toxic feminine and nonsense, because we have been able to control the world around us with it for so long. I speak from experience when I say this. Yet in order for us to grow, we will need to go against this and we will receive a lot of resistance from those who are still within this toxicity. They don’t want to give up their power, and they don’t want to lose their power over us, the ones who are growing beyond.

A few books which have helped me to see and step out of this are My mother,My self – Nancy Friday, The manipulated men – Ester Villar and The courage to be disliked – Ichiro Kishimi

I wish you the best of luck in becoming the best version of yourself. Inspiring, loving, honest and capable of seeing the god in yourself and others in a no-nonsense way.
