Lots of very welcome rain flooded the fields & tunnels, finally ! The lake has come back to its former level, the neighbor’s field is a puddle to the great fun of our ducks.
|
|
Seed in our plukpots: 4 in 1= rucola/spinach/red beets/bronze fennel. We keep them in the heated workplace till the risk of big frosts has gone.
Buy plants of cauliflower & broccoli for later planting in the closed tunnels over the green (salad/coriander/spinach) cover.
Multiplied the chives that had seeded spontaneously in the closed tunnels. We now have 8 lines of 5 different kinds of chives to harvest from year-round.
Scratch all open fields to mix the compost & rain with our fertile soil.
Bring straw in the (wet!!) ditches. This soaks up water for summer evaporation & makes work easier (no mud!).
Continue building the water-catching shed at Hei. The 10.000 cistern is half-full. The little pond we dug at the lowest part of Hei finally is filling up with « brown » water. Slowing down the speed of the excess water is one of the basic permaculture techniques.

Plutocracy IV: Gangsters of Capitalism
https://topdocumentaryfilms.com/plutocracy-gangsters-capitalism/
September 16th, 1920. New York City. In the heart of the financial district a horse-drawn wagon pulls up outside the offices of JP Morgan Bank at 23 Wall Street. Hidden in the cart are 100 pounds of dynamite and 500 pounds of cast iron weights. A timer is set. As the driver disappears into the crowd, the bomb detonates.
The explosion is so powerful that it knocks a trolley from its tracks several blocks away. The bombing on Wall Street was the culmination of an ill-fated revolutionary strategy known as « Propaganda by the Deed ».
Fifty years earlier in 1871, a mass uprising occurred in Paris. Two million people established dozens of worker cooperatives, electing delegates to represent them instead of politicians. Everyone, no matter how poor had a say in the running of their society. The experiment which became known as the Paris Commune was brutally crushed. After being overrun by French soldiers, tens of thousands of Parisians were slaughtered. Karl Marx wrote of the violence in Paris:
“The civilization and justice of bourgeois order comes out in its lurid light whenever the slaves and drudges of that order rise against their masters. Then this civilization and justice stand forth as undisguised, savagery and lawless revenge.”
The Paris Commune was heavily influenced by anarchism and in its aftermath, anarchists throughout Europe were driven underground. The most remained nonviolent, a small number turned to terrorism. Their targets included police chiefs, business leaders, politicians, and royalty. Their goal: to inspire the masses to revolution.
« Propaganda by the Deed » emerged in the United States under similar conditions of mass poverty and state violence. In the late 19th century, working people lived a meager existence of poverty, degradation and toil.
Most were paid subsistence or less than subsistence wages. Safety protections in the workplace were minimal or non-existent. Child labor was rampant. And living conditions were increasingly horrid. When workers tried to organize, they were met with violence. Their oppressors included police, vigilantes, private detectives, and even federal troops.
According to historian Philip Taft, the United States at the turn of the century became home of the bloodiest and most violent labor history of any industrial nation in the world.

Plutocracy V: Subterranean Fire
https://topdocumentaryfilms.com/plutocracy-subterranean-fire/
The documentary charts the establishment of the labor unions in America as a response to the accumulation of wealth by capitalists and the poor treatment of workers. It highlights some major labor movement events of the 1920s and 30s and gives insight into the interplay between labor, race, politics and organization. It speaks to the founding of the labor movements and the radical ideas behind them.
During that time, organization became pertinent if workers were going to earn a livable wage or improve their general way of life. Unions allowed for organized action among exploited workers who shared one ultimate goal and desire to improve their standard of living and earn a livable wage. It seemed that organized cooperation on as large a scale as possible was the only way to accomplish this.
Support for the movement came in many forms. The documentary reflects on how writers and other artists presented workers as protagonists and represented a form of subtle resistance and defiance. Imperialists, fascists, and leftists chose their sides and in the post-war era, there was a brief period of economic boom. Still in the 1940s and post-WWII era, workers became more and more disadvantaged even as industries thrived. Politics played a huge role as well.
The deliberate fostering of cold-war paranoia led to McCarthyism. It created the perfect environment for Truman Doctrine and American interference in other State’s affairs and it also went as far as targeting Hollywood, because anyone associated with or appreciating any content deemed communist was labeled as communists themselves.
The documentary also explores the initial radical ideas and « communist » leaders that led to the success of the union movement and offers commentary on the effects when they were arrested and eliminated. The movement was naturally permanently altered.
The basic worker’s rights that exist today would not be there if not for the actions of the labor movement. Yet, it is clear there is more to be done and that could have been done. The film notes that today the richest people in the world own more wealth than the entire bottom half combined. It begs the question of how much change has actually been effected?

In 1902, Joel Emmanuel Hägglund and his brother, Paul, left Sweden and entered the United States. For this new life, Joel became Joseph Hillström — and, eventually, Joe Hill. Legacy by Yann Arthus-Bertrand
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V352szomi5k
Ten years after “Home”, Yann Arthus-Bertrand returns with “Legacy”, a powerful cry from the heart. He shares a sensitive and radical vision of our world, which he has seen deteriorate over the course of a generation, and reveals a suffering planet, a confused humanity unable to take seriously the threat weighing on it and on all living things. For the director, there is an urgent need: everyone can and must take strong action for the planet’s future for our children.

Doctors and Nurses Giving the Covid-19 Vaccine
Will Be Tried as War Criminals
https://waarheid.tv/59-oorlogsmisdadigers?fbclid=IwAR3jNwc_umEwsGi5Mk5wuOL_EowCUQ4OyV0ZW1YulzhsmgmAAsoJ1uWdy2U
The Nuremberg Code of Medical Experiments, written in 1947, mandates that express, voluntary consent from patients is mandatory for human experiments. That means patients should be told they are taking a test and warned of any possible side effects. That’s what informed consent means. How many doctors and nurses injecting this stuff into people tell patients it’s a test? How much do people give people the information they need to make an informed decision? I suspect anywhere close to none. So legally all those people who administer vaccines are war criminals. That’s not rhetoric. It is not an opinion. It is a fact.
It was clear before Christmas that these vaccines would kill and harm millions of people.
This is genocide. When will the world wake up?

Numbers don’t lie
https://www.cijfers.net/gasguzzlers.html#anker
Fuel consumption How efficient was a combustion engine car if you saw the whole chain (i.e. from oil extraction to the trip to the supermarket)? Co van Liere (former director of research and development at KEMA) and Arnold Heertje (economist) figured it out and came to a shocking conclusion: the chain efficiency for transport by car around the turn of the millennium was… 1 percent! Flaring (-10 units) For convenience we assume 100 units of energy, for example in the form of petroleum. Immediately when it was pumped it went wrong: with many oil companies the methane gas that was released in the process flared off. This is how 10 energy units literally go up in smoke. Transport and Distillation (-10 units) The transport of the crude oil to a refinery in, for example, Antwerp or Rotterdam took 2 units of energy. The distillation process itself, using petroleum, among other things, gasoline made, took 6 units. The end product then had to go to the pump to be transported; that took another 2 energy units. Engine efficiency (-70 units) Believe it or not, even the most modern combustion engine had an efficiency of only 30 percent. Count the cost of an idle engine (eg. for a red traffic light) and add the losses in switching gears and before you know it you have lost 70 units of energy. Build, drive and demolish (-10 units) Of the original 100 energy units, only 10 are now left. These are for driving. Although… Of course, a car also had to be built and (then again) scrapped. That cost 3 units. Putting an average 1,000 kg passenger car into motion and overcoming the air and rolling resistance required an additional 6 units of energy. So in the end only 1 energy unit transported you from A to B.

Extract P.10: Non-Doing as a Force
The witch force may take the shape of a general nervousness in the family,a sense of remoteness, or an unspoken desire that the son lead a higher life than the father is living. In a house where the husband lives no spiritual or inner life, or the wife is left to take care of the physical or object world by herself, all her busyness becomes a form of not doing in her own life. She doesn’t pray, she doesn’t dance. Not praying and not dancing are forces in the house, forces for not doing-no creation of art, no drawing or painting, no intimate conversation with a spouse, no creation of grief-speech together, no poems written about paths lost or never found, no “depth” in the house. The power of non-doing is like a black hole-it is stronger than any of the galaxies.
Extract P.27: Psychic Incest
During the Middle Ages the swan was imagined as the son of those sorts of women who perform intercourse with their husbands on their wedding night, and never again. After that the mother transfers her libido to the son, the swan-son, and away from the boy’s father: and all such transfers suggest physical or psychic incest. As soon as he notices that he has replaced his father in the tournament of love, the boy picks up, through the power of fantasy-contamination, the ancient longing of his mother. She has a double hold on the boy and her longings disturb the son’s later relationships with women.

This wins for most shockingly effective info graphic ever.
Don’t scroll past, stop and really look at this
and then, please understand this: elites never give up their massively disproportionate power and wealth through an appeal to their moral sense. The growing wealth inequality impoverishing many is getting worse, and it’s not going to change without sustained popular uprising.
There is highly effective propaganda machine convincing the average American that there’s nothing they can do to change the status quo. But throughout history, the status quo has been changed again and again by sufficient numbers of average people banding together. So please, spread this message!

The ancients,
wanting to clarify and diffuse
throughout the empire
that light which comes from looking straight into the heart
and then acting,
first set up good government in their own states;
wanting good government in their own states,
they first established order in their own families;
wanting order in the home,
they first disciplined themselves;
desiring self-discipline,
they rectified their own hearts;
and wanting to rectify their hearts,
they sought precise verbal definitions of their inarticulate thoughts.
Wishing to attain precise verbal definitions,
they set to extend their knowledge to the utmost.
This completion of knowledge
is rooted in sorting things into organic categories.
– Confusius
