We did:
First real week of 2021 with a continuation of mild, dry weather. Having broken all meteorological records in 2020, are we on our way to a still more extreme climate change for 2021 ? We are still 1-2m of rainfall short to catch up with what was lost during 5 years of heat an drought.
We did:
Repair our stock of “big bags” with needle & thread. Since wood is our fuel in winter, we have to stock big amounts of it during the other seasons. We use trolleys & big bags a lot when we are breaking/cutting pallets & other sources of firewood.
Steven brought us stuff to fill up the future stocking place at Hei & to level the road there. Good winter work, digging it, warms our muscles next week.
We went through our carrot harvest. Due to the summer drought they are not big, but delicious. Let us hope that 2021 will bring more & more evenly spread rainfall. Extreme heat we can manage on condition we can start with REAL spring weather to cover the soil with growing plants. The technique of keeping mustards & other green covers over winter into spring also works well. We were able to bring the right amounts of our quality compost and scratch them in where possible and the little rain that fell soaked into the top 15-25cm of aerobic humus, so we are ready for a new seeding/planting season. If the winter frosts do not damage the many spontaneous seedlings that came up in the closed tunnels during Indian summer, we also can start with celery, chives, dill, salads, endives, mustards & so many more young plants. Can anyone please tell us when & IF winter will come ? &How cold/snowy/long it will be ? Living in Schriek while expecting a Casablanca climate confronts the gardener wanting to plan seeding/planting with deep design questions. Frank’s experience in improvisation sure comes in handy.
We shared/watched:
We shared beautiful evenings of reading with a beautiful background music. We appreciate more and more the richness of our library. Our readings help us to better understand the world in which we live, to better understand ourselves and therefore to live better in conscience and in confidence. Knowledge is a good remedy for fear.

Extract on the “I create my own life” fallacy
Our difficulty in being present comes principally from the fact that WE DO NOT ACCEPT REALITY AS IT IS because we see neither its beauty nor its depth.
We wrongly imagine that life as we re-orchestrate it is more worthy of being lived.
Hence we LOSE CONSIDERABLE ENERGY wanting to transform reality so that it corresponds to our plans, ideals and beliefs.
Unfortunately reality is not made to conform to our desires.
Thus do we lose a lot of time in this absurd occupation.
This is the chief difficulty in living a more freely flowing, fluid life, one in which REALITY IS NO LOGER FROZEN BY THE MIND.
Every time we intervene in an attempt to cut off a sensation or an emotion that does not correspond to our desires, we paralyze, we block the natural flow of life.
Let’s take an example:
We meet someone whom we are attracted to.
From the first moments, our mind will set itself in motion, get itself going, and we will form a strategy, a plan, expectations, hopes.
Fears will immediately come into play.
The fear of being wronged or deceived, of being abandoned, will surge up very quickly.
We have not yet had the time to develop any real intimacy with the person and yet already our whole system has been put in a position of overabundance and failure.
The whole energy arena of encounter is already a MINEFIELD of strategies, which are all the more disconcertingly surprising and distracting because there are two of us elaborating them.
It can be said that this whole conceptual structure will minimize our chances of a TRUE MEETING, of a TRUE CONNECTION.

Nowadays many children are not even raised by parents any more. Day care centers replacing home & family, kindergarten horizontal peer-group pressure & memory-oriented (often boring & clearly useless) schooling are the torture instruments used to reduce the
geniuses of today to helpless solipsist psychopaths.
How would we need to call children whose parents did scarcely notice their presence, so busy were they warding off financial problems or getting ahead socially ? Toads ?
Are they all awaiting being kissed by the prince ? Hence the couple-obsession they struggle with ?
